About Us
My name is Rachelle Rigsby and I created My Discovery Gardens in order to help families have a safe and loving environment for their children to learn in while they cannot be together. The early years of the life of a child are the most crucial for their learning ability and are the building blocks for the years to come so they need to be taught and treated with care.
I have been working with children since I was 8 years old. This has always been a passion of mine. I began working in a school setting when I was 16 and have loved it ever since. I grew up in Northern California and graduated from California State University, Chico in 2004 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. I have worked in a few Child Development Centers and have learned how to do things along the way. If it’s not about the children and the families then it’s not right.
Amenities
Meals-Healthy meals and snacks are made fresh and served daily. My Discovery Gardens serves breakfast, lunch, and three snacks at no charge to the family.
Toilet training-Toilet training is offered with the assistance and consistency of the program already established at home.
Sign Language- Basic Sign Language is taught to infants as soon as they are enrolled. It will help to build language skills and ease the frustration of not having the language to let you know what they need.
Safety Drills-Fire safety drills take place once a month.
What is MDG doing for Covid-19
Children 2 and up as well as all staff members wear masks.
We do health checks at drop-off and throughout the day.
We have installed Hepa Filters and UV lights in our HVAC systems, so the air is constantly being cleaned.
We are also sanitizing throughout the day with Hypochlorous Acid and electromagnetic sprayers, which kills bacteria and viruses, including the Covid-19 virus. This disinfectant is completely safe. We are able to clean and the children can touch the surfaces even if wet or just sprayed.
